Private Schools In Texas Plan To Limit Enrollment During Pandemic

Private schools in Texas plan to reduce their enrollment this fall in order to reopen safely during the pandemic. Since the schools aren't funded by taxes, fewer students means less revenue from tuition. But private schools are more vulnerable to lawsuits than public schools if they drop the ball on safety.

Texas has about 900 private schools with about a quarter-million students. Even as tuition income goes down, private schools are dealing with unexpected expenses such as PPE, sanitization, and software for online learning.
