ERCOT: Low Risk Of Power Emergencies This Summer Despite Record Demand

The Electric Reliability Council of Texas is confident there will be low risk of emergency power conditions this summer, despite projected record demand. ERCOT released its summer forecast on Thursday, saying peak summer demand will probably be over 77,000 megawatts. Grid operator officials say their reserves will be just under 16% should that happen. ERCOT plans to visit some power plants to make sure they're ready for the summer weather.
