Governor Greg Abbott is sending Texas Department of Public Safety troopers to Dallas to help police quell violent crime. Abbott called the rise in violence unacceptable and said state troopers, Texas Rangers, helicopters, and planes are on their way to keep communities safe. Dallas Mayor Eric Johnson told reporters earlier on Wednesday he wanted a "full court press" because the numbers of murders and aggravated assaults are much higher than last year.
