Nearly two-dozen suspects are in custody for a drug trafficking operation involving a Mexican cartel. Federal officials announced on Monday that a 50-count indictment in December named 41 suspects wanted for smuggling cocaine, fentanyl, heroin, and meth from Mexico to the Houston-Galveston area. From there, the narcotics were distributed around the country. So far 23 suspects have been arrested. An accused ringleader, 52-year-old Roque Zamudio-Mendoza, and 15 others are still at large. Two more suspects are deceased.
