Former WWE superstar Rusev has reportedly "signed with the company and was at headquarters today to set the stage for his return," PWInsider's Mike Johnson reported on Wednesday (April 2).

"PWInsider.com has confirmed with multiple sources that Rusev (aka Miro in AEW) has been at the WWE HQ in Stamford, CT all day today and was spotted by multiple sources," Johnson wrote.

Rusev, whose real name is Miroslav Barnyashev, was a three-time United States champion during his first run with WWE, having been signed to the company from 2010 to 2020. The Bulgarian native debuted on WWE's main roster in 2015 alongside his wife, CJ Perry, who was his valet under the moniker of 'Lana," whom he began dating when both were in WWE's developmental program. Perry was reportedly absent during Barnyashev's meeting at WWE headquarters on Wednesday, according to Johnson.

Barnyashev and Perry, both 39, had previously worked for All Elite Wrestling during their time away from WWE under their real names before Perry was released from her contract in April 2024 and Barnyashev's contract expired at some point earlier this year. The couple told TMZ Sports that they renewed their wedding vows small ceremony at a church in Los Angeles last month after separating in 2023 and filing for divorce last year.
